Breaking News: Diesel Price Cut by Rs.14, Petrol Price Unchanged in Pakistan
Islamabad, 16 December 2025:
The Government of Pakistan has announced revised petroleum prices for the next fifteen days following recommendations from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) . According to the official notification issued by the Ministry of Energy Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been kept unchanged, while HSD (high speed diesel) prices have been reduced significantly.
As per the latest update, the petrol price in Pakistan remains at Rs. 263.45 per litre. Meanwhile, the price of high speed diesel has been reduced by Rs. 14 per litre, bringing the new diesel rate down to Rs. 265.65 per litre from the previous Rs. 279.65.

The new fuel prices came into effect from midnight on 16 December 2025 and will remain applicable until 31 December 2025, under the government’s fortnightly fuel price review mechanism.
Diesel is widely used in transport, agriculture, and industrial sectors. The price cut is expected to ease transportation costs and help control inflation, although petrol users will see no immediate relief.
The Ministry of Energy stated that the price revision was made after reviewing international oil market trends requirements, based on OGRA’s recommendations.
